Living by faith
The call of God to live by faith is a heavenly invitation. An invitation to live a supernatural life of radical obedience to God’s Word unmoved by the visible realm.
Throughout history men and women have through their extreme obedience ignited fires of faith in those around them. Their stories serve as a Coat of Arms for us to glean from today. Let’s examine a few of these men and women in order stir ourselves to pursue a lifestyle that pleases God extraordinarily.
Abraham was a pioneer in the realm known as faith. In fact he has been dubbed the Father of Faith. Pioneering involves exploring as in settling in a new country or area, developing a new area of knowledge or activity, or opening up a road or terrain. Consider the following passage from Galatians concerning Abraham.
6 Abraham, our father of faith, led the way as our pioneering example. He believed God and the substance of his faith released God’s righteousness to him. 7 So those who are the true children of Abraham will have the same faith as their father! 8 God’s plan all along was to bring this message of salvation to the nations through the revelation of faith. Long ago God prophesied over Abraham, as the Holy Scriptures say: “Through your example of faith all the nations will be blessed!” 9 And so the blessing of Abraham’s faith is now our blessing too! Galatians 3:6-9
Abraham’s legendary faith is truly remarkable and has become his legacy handed down from generation to generation.
