Jeremy Fontenot is a missionary, revivalist, pastor, church planter, musician, and speaker.
He and his wife, Danielle have worked as missionaries in South East Asia for the last 12 years including Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. They have planted 3 churches in Cambodia.
Jeremy and his wife, Danielle have enjoyed 16 years of marriage. Their greatest accomplishment and joy is raising their two amazing children, Samuel, and Vivian.
They live in southern Louisiana.
Our Journey
In 2006 Jeremy and Danielle had a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit at River Ministries international, Addis, Louisiana. They responded to the altar call and the word that was spoken over them was, “ you are called to ministry and you will start a movement on the earth.” That night Jeremy and Danielle knew they were called to missions. Within 11 months, after giving away and selling all they had, they were in South East Asia full time. They left with only $300 in their pocket and a dream to do something great for Jesus.
Over the course of four years they saw the Lord provide in miraculous ways and open doors. They traveled to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Their main country and focus was Malaysia. They also attended a missions training course in the summer of 2008. They served as Youth Pastors at a local Malaysian church in the city of Johor Bahru. Also they worked with a children’s home. Jeremy and Danielle lived almost four years in Malaysia.
Late 2010, the Lord brought them home to Louisiana. At this time they had a 22 month old son, Samuel and Danielle was pregnant with twins. Shortly after returning to America Danielle miscarried the twins half way into the pregnancy. It was a difficult season but their hearts burned for the nations. All they could think about and ask was, “Lord what is next? What do you have for us?”
In the spring of 2011 while Danielle was pregnant with their daughter the Lord spoke to them to go to Cambodia. In May of 2012 they left everything again, got on a plane with their kids Samuel 3 years old and Vivian 10 weeks old and flew to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The first year there Jeremy’s main focus was to learn the language and culture. At the end of 2012, by divine encounter we met Sam Phan who at the time was Buddhist. Jeremy led him to Jesus, water baptized him and discipled him.
In 2013 they started their first village church, 50 minutes outside of Phnom Penh in the small village called Kien Svay. The next year Jeremy started another village church in Sam Phans village. Jeremy was fluent in the Khmer language. He could preach and teach in the villages. They saw salvations and miracles take place.
After four years in Phnom Penh the Lord called them north to the small town of Siem Reap to start an international church. When they moved, Jeremy turned over the village churches to Sam Phan who now pastors them. In August of 2016 Jeremy and Danielle started River church, Siem Reap. People were saved, discipled and encountered the Holy Spirit weekly. On any given Sunday there would be up to 12 different nationalities attending church! The nations were being discipled in one small town.
In March 2020, the Lord lead Jeremy and Danielle back to Louisiana during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was sad to say goodbye to a land that they loved and all the people that they met along the way. Jeremy is now working full time with River Ministries International, Addis. He is also called to preach and stir up churches! Win the lost and bring revival!
